In March 2016, stakeholders from 35 countries established the Mountain Futures Initiative, as part of the inaugural Mountain Futures Conference in Kunming, China. The Initiative seeks to foster local innovations for resilient livelihoods in mountain regions worldwide; it aims to identify, develop, and scale up mountain-based solutions to global problems.
Shape the ongoing development of the Mountain Futures Initiative and its institutional space for research and training in Honghe, Yunnan. Present and disseminate evidence-based socio-ecological knowledge including innovations, practices, and technologies from mountain communities Network with over 100 Mountain Futures professionals and practitioners, as well as representatives from indigenous communities, policymakers, and other Mountain Futures stakeholders, on local, regional, and transnational levels.
March 23, 2018: Deadline for abstract submission. Please send us your abstracts for both oral and poster presentations, along with your short biographies, via our online submission form before Friday, March 23.
April 6, 2018: Acceptance to the conference. Authors who have submitted abstracts will be notified of their acceptance to the conference by April 6.
April 13, 2018: Deadline for supplying personal particulars. Details are needed for issuance of invitation letters (see below).
May 4, 2018: Application for visas to China. For foreign visitors we insist that you submit your application for a visa to the People’s Republic of China no later than May 4.
