MRI Europe projects

Science Networks as Jumping Boards
Profound knowledge on who’s who in mountain research, on ongoing or planned activities and opportunities to fund them is key to successful project proposal development. Personal contacts as well as the regularly updated MRI Expert Database or Who's who List can support the efficient development of project ideas. Networking events, such as Key Contact Workshops, can further stimulate new partnerships for international collaboration.

MRI Europe Support in Proposal Development
MRI-Europe aims to initiate new project ideas, to facilitate partner search for international project collaborations and to stimulate the interdisciplinary dialogue conducive for the development of new research proposals. In few cases, MRI-Europe was part of an internationally funded project: GLOCHAMORE (Scientific Support Action 2003-2005) and mountainTRIP (2009-2011).

GLOCHAMORE
The GLOCHAMORE (Global Change and Mountain Regions) Research Strategy is the product of a 2-years' negotiation between global change scientists and managers of UNESCO-MAB Mountain Biosphere Reserves. The Research Strategy was finalized in December 2005 and is now at the disposition of researchers and managers as pdf or printed document. Read more.

Mountain.TRIP
To transform research results into practice is the basic challenge for mountain.TRIP. To this aim mountain.TRIP developed prototypes of communication products. All examples can be found on the website.
